WELCOME TO WARTS212.com

Warts212.com is an information resource about warts and my medical practice. My name is Dr. Michael Tirgan. I practice in Upper Westside of Manhattan. I have special interest in conditions causing skin growths, such as warts, moles, keloids, skin tags and skin cancer. I practice cutaneous oncology, a branch of medicine that focuses on skin cancers. Naturally, I do see and treat many patients with benign skin growth disorders as well. This website contains information about warts and HPV infection. I hope you find the content of this site useful.

Warts are benign growths of the external layer of the skin. The excessive growth of wart tissue is caused by a virus known as Human Papiloma Virus (HPV). You can read more about HPV in other pages of this website

Warts are not cancerous. They are always benign and painless unless they are irritated. Warts can occur in almost any part of the body. In children, they are most commonly noticed on the hands and feet. In adults, they can occur in almost every part of the body.

Genital warts in adults are sexually transmitted. These warts can occur on male or female genital and anal areas. They are due to infection with a different kind of HPV. Although most warts can be easily treated with Cryotherapy, the virus itself cannot be eradicated with our today's treatments. THis may result in re-occurrence of the warts after therapy.

CRYOTHERAPY FOR WARTS

Cryotherapy is the best choice of treatment for all warts, regardless of the location and the region of the body. With Cryotherapy, skin remains intact at all times. Most warts usually disappear after one treatment. Some warts will require re-treatment. Although warts disappear with Cryotherapy, they can re-occur in future in the same or in a different location. This is due to the viral nature of this condition. The video below depicts one of our actual patients who was treated with cryotherapy for a skin wart.
